The road, and the hours it leaves you

Highway 21 is the spine of this. It runs seven miles northwest to Springfield and eighteen miles south to Savannah, and it is a commuter route and a trucking route to the ports at the same time. The 32.3 minute county average is what that looks like on a Tuesday morning.

The Effingham Parkway was supposed to take some of the load off, by giving Chatham and Effingham a third north to south route. It has slipped again. As of this August the opening is projected for spring or summer 2027, after flooding in August 2025 damaged a stretch that now has to be rebuilt. So the relief people have been promised is at least another year out.

What that means practically is that enquiries arrive at half six in the morning and after eight at night, from someone standing in a driveway or sitting in a car park, on a phone, on a signal that comes and goes. A site that takes four seconds to load and then offers a contact form nobody reads until Thursday is losing those people to whoever answers first. It has to be fast, it has to work with one thumb, and whatever gets sent has to reach you before the person has rung the next name on the list.

The town is filling up, and filling up with strangers

Rincon had 2,697 people in 1990 and 10,934 at the 2020 census. The city now says it serves over eleven thousand residents and more than two hundred businesses. Growth on that scale is not people having more children. It is people arriving.

For a long time they arrived and drove straight back out. In 2018 Rincon's city planner put it at roughly eighty percent of the population leaving the county for work on any given work day. Georgia-Pacific's Savannah River Mill on Fort Howard Road is still the county's largest private employer, with more than 900 people, and by Georgia-Pacific's own figure only about 40 percent of them live in Effingham County.

That is shifting. Sewon America, a tier-one supplier to Hyundai's Metaplant in Bryan County, started up in Rincon in 2025 on a roughly 300 million dollar site, the largest private investment in the city's history when it was announced, and put another 50 million and 100 jobs into an expansion this year. Georgia Transformer began work in April on an expansion of its own, around 400 jobs, due to finish in November 2027. Sewon alone is heading for around 740 people, in a town of eleven thousand.

Both versions land in the same place for you. Somebody who moved into a new build last spring has no neighbour to ask who does gutters, so they search instead, and they search from a car or a break room rather than a desk. For a good slice of your potential customers the first page they land on is doing the job a recommendation used to do, which is a heavier job than most sites are built for. It has to answer three things quickly: do you cover Rincon, can you come this week, and roughly what will it cost.

What is probably being done by hand

Effingham's largest employment sectors are manufacturing, retail and health care, but what is actually based in Rincon skews smaller and more practical: general contractors, heating and air, roofing, lawn care, plus the clinics, salons and shops strung along 21.

Run one of those and the pattern is familiar. A missed call at ten past seven that you saw and could not take. A quote written on the same pad as the last four. An invoice sent on a Sunday evening, because that is the only hour there is.

That is the half we build alongside the site. A form that drops the job straight into wherever you keep jobs and texts you rather than waiting to be checked. A booking link, so you are not trading three voicemails to agree on a Tuesday. Quotes that go out from a template with your prices already in it and chase themselves if nobody replies. None of it is clever. It just stops work sitting in an inbox until it goes cold.

Where we actually are

Savannah, not Rincon. There is no office on Highway 21 and we are not going to imply there is. It is half an hour up the road on a decent day and longer when 21 is doing what this whole page is about, and we will come up for the first meeting and for anything that genuinely needs doing in person.

The rest is worth saying too. Y2 is new, and it is one person. There is no wall of Effingham County case studies, because there is not a wall of anything yet. What we can do is go through what you have now and tell you what we would change first, before you have paid anything.

If the honest answer is that your site is fine and the real problem is that nothing happens after somebody fills in the form, we will say that rather than sell you a rebuild you do not need.
